The Violin Pro-Hold comes with three magnetic components that are easy to install and use.
A. The Velvet-Mag Strip is worn under your shirt and encases one magnet at one end and two magnets at the opposite end.
B. The Velvet-Mag Square, encasing one magnet, can be used over one shirt layer to adhere to the back of the Velvet-Mag Strip and secure it in place. If you wear two shirts, the Velvet-Mag Square can be placed under the lower shirt, adhering it to either the front or back of the Velvet-Mag Strip. Adhering it to the front magnet will boost the magnetic field for a stronger hold with the shoulder rest magnet.
C. The Mag Strap, encasing a magnet, is wrapped around your shoulder rest and uses hook and loop to fasten it in back. The Mag Strap magnet adheres to the Velvet-Mag Strip’s front magnet, securing your violin or viola shoulder rest in place.
 
Under light weight shirts, one white dot of the Velvet-Mag Strip is oriented up and forward to utilize one magnet.
Under heavier shirts or jackets, two white dots of the Velvet-Mag Strip are oriented up and forward to utilize two magnets.
For thick sweaters or jackets with padded shoulders, purchase an additioinal Velvet-Mag Square and adhere it to your shoulder rest magnet to boost the magnetic field and holding strength.
 
You will need to adjust your Velvet-Mag Strip, Mag Strap, and shoulder rest to arrive at your best holding position. With practice you will be able to quickly place the Velvet-Mag Strip in just the right place under your shirt, secure it with the Velvet-Mag Square, and maintain the Mag Strap in the same position on your shoulder rest for repeated use.
 
Loose light weight shirts may cause the Velvet-Mag Strip to shift, while heavier form-fitting shirts will help keep the Velvet-Mag Strip more stable. You will be able to experiment different shirt thicknesses and magnet placement to make it easy to lift your instrument of the magnet and click it back into position quickly. The Violin Pro-Hold comes with detailed instructions to help you install, adjust and care for the Pro-Hold components.
 
SPECIFICATIONS:
 A. Velvet-Mag Strip: The velvet-like fabric sleeve is 5.6-5.7" x 1.3" x 0.035" and encases one magnet at one end and two stacked magnets at the other end. A self-fusing silicone tape inside the sleeve maintains the magnets in position. The  edges of the fabric sleeve are machine stictched.
B. Velvet-Mag Square: The velvet-like fabric sleeve is 1.5" x 1.3" x 0.13" and encases one magnet. The edges of the fabric sleeve are machine stitched.
C. Mag Strap: The low profile hook and loop, back to back, strap is 6" x 1.75" x 0.03" with an additional 2" x 1.75" x 0.03" hook and loop piece that encases one magnet.
Magnets: All magnets are 1" diameter x 1/16" thick neodymium magnets with a nickel-copper-nickel coating, and have 3M adhesive on one side.
